Whether your child needs a refresher, is preparing for GCSE exams, or is working towards the 11+ entrance exam, each session is tailored to their individual needs and follows the National Curriculum and relevant exam boards.

• Maths (KS2, KS3 & GCSE) – all exam boards covered
• 11+ English & Maths – includes verbal and non-verbal reasoning

In-person lessons are available within 5 miles of Blackburn. Online sessions are also offered via Zoom, Skype or Teams. All tuition is delivered by a qualified teacher with current DBS clearance and extensive SEND experience.

Pricing
Regular weekly 1 or 2 hour sessions are advised. I ask for all tutoring to be purchased in blocks of 4 to ensure continuity for the student and to hold your preferred lesson time.

I'm Afshan – Private Tutor in Blackburn, Oswaldtwistle & Accrington
I'm a qualified teacher and experienced private tutor offering one-to-one support in maths, English, art, design and textiles. I work with students in Blackburn, Oswaldtwistle, Accrington and the surrounding areas, both in person and online.
​
My academic background includes a Foundation Certificate in Integrated Technologies, HND in Design, BSc in Textile Design & Management, BSc (Hons) in Mathematics, PGCE in Secondary Mathematics, and a certificate in Mental Health First Aid. I am DBS checked and update my certificate annually.
​
I’ve taught across a range of educational settings, including mainstream secondary schools, independent schools, intervention programmes and apprenticeship training. For over ten years, I’ve supported students with additional needs — including dyslexia, speech and language challenges, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs — working closely with SEND leads and Individual Education Plans (IEPs).

I’ve also completed CPD training in autism, dyslexia, dyspraxia, ADHD, EAL, speech and language development, and SEMH to ensure every learner receives appropriate and thoughtful support.

With hands-on experience across several exam boards, I tutor students at KS2, KS3 and KS4 in maths, English (Functional Skills), art, design and textiles. Every lesson is carefully adapted to meet the needs of each individual, following the National Curriculum and exam board specifications to help students build confidence and achieve their goals.
